A YouthMETRO traineeship is a one-year, part time, church based traineeship, focussed on preparing and growing youth leaders in local churches. Like METRO traineeships, YouthMETRO traineeships aim to equip trainees in being, thinking and serving like Jesus, with a specific focus on doing this with and to youth.
This happens as trainees complete intensive units in Evangelism and Christian Doctrine at at a Summer Intensive, attend the Engage Leaders conference, read Christian books, work through ministry papers, meet one-to-one with their trainer, and serve in ministry in their local church.
This traineeship is aimed at people 16 years to young adults.

Application Process
Applications open until October 15th
Please complete the following steps:
- Trainee application form (choose the form applicable to your age the day you apply)
- Trainer application form
- Church application form (to be completed by the Senior Pastor or Session Clerk)
- Ensure your Session Clerk receives this document (YouthMETRO Church Session Information 2024) and sends METRO the Minutes extract.
- Safe Church Requirements
Please make sure that these forms are to be completed only with the knowledge and approval of your church’s Session.
Note- It is the trainer’s responsibility to ensure that each of these forms are completed by October 15th. Save the Date: Orientation will be held on Saturday November 18th, 2023.
