And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. — 2 Timothy 2:2

The EquipMETRO traineeship is a one-year, part-time traineeship for individuals of any age group. It is geared toward those who would like to increase their understanding of being, thinking and serving like Jesus, but who are unable to complete a traineeship in a full-time capacity. It does so by encouraging trainees to meet regularly with a trainer who will, alongside them, read ministry papers, selected books and encourage the trainees in service in their nominated ministry areas.  The time commitment to the traineeship is flexible and can be tailored to the individual’s availability. It would however, be reasonable to expect 8hrs of reading/preparation/participation to be allocated each week.

Trainees are required to attend the Engage Leader’s Conference (January) and the MTS Challenge Day after a submitting a successful application as supported by their church Session.

About EquipMETRO Funding

The METRO Committee has undertaken to assist churches in their investment in training people for Gospel ministry through EquipMETRO.

METRO asks that churches contribute a nominal amount of $250 towards the training of each EquipMETRO trainee serving in their church.

Funds will be used to subsidise the provision of training materials, books, and trainees’ attendance at Engage Leader’s Conference and MTS Challenge Day.

METRO requires an extract from a Session meeting confirming the funding and approval of a EquipMETRO trainee and appointment of their trainer before a trainee can commence the traineeship.
